The CHH-Lancet Commission on Health, Conflict, and Forced Displacement will launch its landmark report in Geneva, opening a global series of regional events that will run through July 2026 across six cities on four continents.
At a time of escalating conflict, record forced displacement, shrinking humanitarian resources, and deepening impunity for violations of international law, the Commission’s report will set out a new paradigm for humanitarian health. Its bold and practical recommendations call for a fundamental rethink of how humanitarian health responses are designed, governed, financed, and delivered in some of the world’s most challenging settings.
Convened by the Johns Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health and The Lancet, the Commission brings together global leaders and experts committed to confronting and reshaping the humanitarian system. Its work challenges existing power structures in humanitarian health, seeks to influence global policy and practice, and amplifies the voices of people affected by conflict and displacement.
Following the global launch in Geneva, the Commission will host six regional events between June and July 2026 — convening Commissioners, partners, policymakers, practitioners, and affected communities to ground the report’s findings in regional realities and chart action for the years ahead.
The Commission will present its report at a hybrid launch event hosted by the Institute of Global Health at the University of Geneva. The event will offer the first public opportunity to engage directly with Commission members and to explore the report’s key findings and recommendations. Participants will also have the chance to discuss the implications for humanitarian policy, practice, and partnerships in the years ahead.

The CHH-Lancet Commission on Health, Conflict, and Forced Displacement is a collaboration between the Johns Hopkins Center for Humanitarian Health and The Lancet, launched in 2024. It brings together 21 Commissioners and 21 Next Generation Scholars — including emerging researchers and practitioners from low- and middle-income countries — to address the rising toll of armed conflict and the unprecedented scale of forced displacement on global health.
